I took today and just relaxed and watched movie after movie with the kids. We also had a good talk about Soldiers, and fighting for our rights, and Freedom. One of the Movies we watched was called Stop-Loss. A good movie about a soldier fighting in Iraq,, trying to get out of the service after his last tour and they reassign him to go back the day he was suppose to get out Sad but true movie! Made the two oldest boys really understand what our soldiers over there are going through every day!
Tomorrow I'm planting flowers and doing housework.
Early Monday morning I'm getting up and smok'in a brisket, chicken, and later grill hotdogs and burgers. Oh I have a peach cobbler in the oven now, and making cornbread salad tomorrow,~ new recipe ~my bosses wife made it and brought it to work one day,, it's very very good! I'll post it in the recipe thread if anyone wants it

Glad you had a nice relaxing day today, Diane, as it sounds like the next 2 days are going to be busy!

We did lots of planting again today, after 2 days of the same. Every part of my body is screaming enough! Tomorrow we are going just up the street to a BBQ at our friends' house. She has a large family of 8 siblings and they all come - lots of fun and good food.

Monday is going to be very hot, so I'll probably just lay low... or run a few errands.

Stay safe everyone. The sirens are blaring in our neighborhood a lot this holiday weekend - makes me very uneasy.

(just had to copy that, it was so well said)

Diane, I think it is just so great tha tyou are teaching the boys a bout the important things in this world---they just do not seem to do such as that in school any longer---kudos to you my friend. bow
What we are doing:
Well first: Friday night I took flowers out to my daddy's grave---then Rod took a cordless drill out & drilled holes in my grandparents flower vases so they will drain---they were freezing & cracking in the winter weather here-----tomorrow we will go to church & then to my daughter's house for a BBQ--then on Monday we will go to 1 or 2 memorial services--& then either just cook for ourselves or for Chris & Emily--- we shall see

We don't much hear sirens here on this holiday, that's mostly on July 4th holiday for here.
Actually Most families are gathered for BBQ's and family reunions,, Parks are full with families, and we have a parade or two.
I'm pretty much ahead of schedule for everything I wanted to get done today,, so this late afternoon and evening should be easy going, as well as just smokin the meat tomorrow. thumbup

Well, I've been sleeping and relaxing a lot this weekend. I do have to work tomorrow. Tonight I'm making steak with zucchini, onion, and mushrooms. Cubing the steak so it's like a stir fry. The kids are really looking forward to it. We had a bunch of frozen steaks so we just had to buy the veggies.

Happy Memorial day to all you who celebrate it. Its not a holiday here we had Victoria Day weekend last weekend and I spent it outside in the garden.

Wish I was out having fun with all of you instead of having to work.

Happy Memorial day to all Can't talk to Mike he is in Afghanistan did talk to Bryce this morning (mid morning here but morning in Hawaii) He deploys June 1 but sounded in good spirits at least he got to be home when his first born came a month ago. Praying for all out troops around the world. Outside of that finished pruning trees cuttin up and stacking by road. Man I am tired .

Because Maxi was away & our grill is packed on the POD, I had a hotdog I cooked on the stove & smothered w/ Australian BBQ sauce. It was good!

I also taped the National Memorial day parade in Washington so we can watch it when Maxi gets back.

It was a tame holiday compared to what we usually do, but nice anyway!

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart?
The other heart was given to another for us to find.
