I tried a double decker coneflower one year and that's haw it bloomed for me. But that was its first year. It never came back again so I don't know if its normal or not.

Dodge I think what you have there might be a mal-formed "Double Decker" Coneflower- http://www.bluestoneperennials.com/b/bp/ECDDS.html is the picture in the above link what you are supposed to have??? however---- I sent you seeds from my Pink Double Delight Echinacea also known as Double Coneflower. The date I sent them was 9-2-2010 so I guess your picture is the offspring from those seeds ??? Strange Below is a closeup of 1 flower from MY DD Coneflowers ![[Linked Image]](http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff68/JunieGirl_2007/4thwaterlily004.jpg)

I think the last one is a mountain garland, Clarkia unguiculata. Some great photos!

No a clarkia is a different annual. You can read about them on this page under mountain garland. If you look up mountain garland images online, you will see quite a few much like yours.

I grew some double coneflowers too. Maybe your weather is too cold for them to have time to form correctly.
That garland or whatever is very pretty.

Its real name is echinacea.
Every plant started out as a seed ,and then came the waiting game.
