Yesterday  Toon the Cat came in and told me he needed help... BAD! We haven't found the exact cause yet, but apparently something very heavy fell on his back foot, breaking two toes high up in the foot.  When he pulled his foot out, he cut deep into the meat, leaving about a square inch of exposed meat and bone. It was really icky looking and obviously hurt BAD.  He had surgery to fix the bones and sew up the damage. He is back home now. Poor kitty....... Toon seems to be smling inspite of it all.Wish we had that spirit, when hurt. Maybe big rock fell on Toon? Nice ot you to take kitty to the hospital.  dodge

Dodge is right, it was very nice of you to take Toon to the Hospital. But then you strike me as that kind of person. Ya know what I thought right at first?/ That toon got caught in a trap of some sort & then pulled his.her way out of the trap, causing the "issue" Not that it matters but could that have happened???

POOR Baby! I hope toon keeps his cast on longer than my 2 kitties did. Each one had it only on the foot part, and it was off the same night it was put on!

Wow, that sounds like some bad injury! Glad he made his way to the house.

Toon isn't happy about having to stay indoors, especially when everybody else gets to come and go, but he is getting around the house well and eating well. It will be a long few weeks for him... and the rest of us!

He motors all over the house.. tutump, tatump, tutump, tatump, tutump, tatump... He even gets up on the kitty table by himself! This has nothing to do with Toon, but its about an orange kitty vs a brown kitty...

Cool picture! I know for a fact that Spartacus would have been jumping at that glass door trying to get to that lion! He got out the other day and chased a Collie/Shepherd mix around the yard, kicking it's butt. Neighbor was outside with a video camera it was so funny. But, if that dog would have turned on Sparta it could have killed him...that's why Sparta is a house cat. Same dog has been in the yard this morning and Sparta tried to break through the window to get to it. Glad Toon can get around OK...can't imagine having that on my leg. Good thing cats have 4 legs instead of 2....they have 3 extra ones instead of one.

That is a cool picture. I have had mountain lions outside with their cubs trying to entice my cats to play. My cats weren't buying into that game.

When he isn't snoozing or eating, he is getting really bored with the whole thing. Yesterday he went around pulling stuff out from under book shelves and furniture. yes he is VERY pretty...But I have a question---I am thinking he might need to stay in the house for awhile after his cast is off so he can get used to his new/healed leg without over exerting himself & reinjuring his leg???
Just a thought---but then, I assume the vet will tell you how things should go......
