This is my first post - I've been having difficulty with my Gardenia plant. I love them, but its not growing well. It produces foliage, but of a very light green color, and no blossoms. Is this due to lack of fertilization, or just a pH issue? Also, I'm wanting to transplant it outside - got any tips as to location, sun, mulch, watering etc?

Yes, they're difficult.
It may need iron chelate. Also Miracid.
If you plant it in the ground make sure it will get partial shade.
In California we're told that if we live on the coast plant gardenias in the sun, and if inland, in the shade.

Thanks, I guess that Arkansas is inland, and our Summers are on the super hot side, so maybe early sun, then shade in the hot afternoon? Also, the humidity thing - our Summers are really dry, would keeping the mulch under and around it wet take care of the humidity requirement? I've added some cedar mulch to help with the acidity.

Not sure about the mulch, can you rig up a mister?
