Interestingly my children and grandchildren wanted tickets to plays for Christmas. The show aren't until after Christmas but that's what I got them. I can't stand not having a tiny something under my tree for them though so I will try to find something in the $20.00 range to wrap up because the tickets were in the $500.00 range - that's for 2 tickets. I think I mentioned Darbi and Aubry are going to see Dancing with the Stars, Shelley and Colby are going to see come country singer I know nothing about, and Ginger and her entire crew are going to see the Broadway musical Back to the Future in Louisiana. That leaves Tracy and Seth who don't care about seeing any type of show or play. Aubry's birthday is in December and I got us tickets to see The Price of Egypt at a nearby playhouse. So I'm covered pretty much.

Wonderful gifts Bestofour....you are spoiling your family.

It is cold today but the sun is shining....and the birds are plentiful. I stared throwing leftover feed from the barn on the lawn, the Blue Jays are in heaven with the cracked corn.

It wasn't my idea but I'm glad to do it because it's so much easier than trying to figure out what everyone would like. I sent Colt a text asking and he texted back "I don't want anything." So I was glad his mother came up with the play for the 3 of them because he loves going to the theater and the one in Louisiana is fancy - coat and tie kind of thing.

My yard has tons of leaves on the ground. I hate cutting down healthy trees but my sister had a bunch of their cut down and it's made their life so much easier so I'm thinking about it. I keep looking for a place to move with no luck because HOA's around here are so expensive so I guess I'll be here. Might as well get rid of some of the yard work.

I took down my hummingbird feeders and some of the little yellow flowers had broken and fallen off. Same thing happened last year so these were new this year. So I got the name of the company who made them and sent them an email telling them what happened 2 years in a row and could I buy some new flowers. And talk about great customer service. I received a letter back that they don't sell just the parts but they sent me 2 new feeders.

Yes, getting Christmas ideas from loved ones is a wonderful thing. It makes gift giving a lot easier, and then you know what you are giving will be appreciated. A good thing all around.

I happened to find a coup!e of packets of the yellow flowers a few years back, so I am ok right now, but I love the idea you had, and I am so glad it worked out so well for you.

You could always hire a few neighborhood boys to rake leaves for you, or you could use your riding lawn mower to mulch them. That is what we do here. And all you have to do is flip a lever in the newer John Deere mowers to enable the mowers to mulch leaves.

We cut a lot of trees down in our yard, sad part is that I was the one who planted them over 25 years ago thinking it was a good idea....not.🥴

I wish my family gave me gift ideas...I keep asking, they never give in.

Sorry for that, Donny. When we moved to the farm in May of 1980, we planted around 20 or more trees. ..then 4 when we moved into town. And only 2 when we moved to Missouri. I guess we are catching on.

Junie, you found the flowers for hummingbird feeders? Can you remember where because they sent the same feeders so it's going to happen again.

Well as I said it was several years ago, but I am almost positive I was in Walmart. I think I would look on eBay...I can find just about anything there.

So true, they used to sell them at animal feed stores as well. Amazon also sells them.

Interesting that Perky Pets, who sent us the feeders, doesn't sell the flowers because I found them on Amazons and Walmarts website. Thank you both.

I've been pretty much worthless for the last 2 days. Went to a presentation at the Marshville Museum yesterday, to church today then home for a nap. I'm getting myself in gear tomorrow. I want to start Christmas decorating and I need to trim some shrubs. The young man who sits right in front of me at church (was there today) was supposed to come to trim the shrubs 3 weeks ago and never showed up. I text him again the other day and he's never responded so I'm not asking him again. Not sure what his deal is because he owns his business and originally he said he'd come by and look and come the next week. Today he didn't even turn around and look my way. I can do it myself for the most part and save my money.

NP. I hope you are able to get some new flowers.
And I would find them now so you have them, Sheri.

I think you should begin looking for someone to hire for a helper too.

I hope you find some good help Bestofour.

It stormed, turned to rain....now it is ice. I'd rather the snow.

Oh my goodness..not ice already ?? Gracious me.
I hope it does not stick around long. Rain is far preferable. So we are told, it will try to rain and or storm for the next few days here.

We had a strong rain this morning..."they" are forecasting more rain and possible storms this afternoon and evening.

When this front moves thru, later in the week, this will be my last time for rain saving
for the winter.

Good morning. It is hair cut day.

Nope my hair dresser got sick.

Then she texted me to try to get me to come in tomorrow, but I have another appointment, so no cut tomorrow either.

Gosh we could sure use some of that rain. We don't have any coming our way in the next week.

Yesterday and today I've got a lot of the yard work done myself. Trimmed a lot of the shrubs and blown some of the leaves. There are lots and lots more leaves. I need to cut down some of these trees.

Going to the Southern Christmas Show tomorrow smile

Sorry about the missed appointment Junie.

Good job Bestofour, I hope you find someone at an affordable price for the tree cutting.

I have to get off my butt today and get some cedar to make a wreath.

We had a blast at the Christmas Show and the weather was so nice. Tomorrow I'm starting to bring out Christmas decorations. 🎄

Sunny are you making wreaths for your windows?

No, I am making my wreath for my front door. I made it last night. I have to make a bow and add some decor ti it yet. It's the kick off to my holiday every year. I think I enjoy the walk in the woods just as much though.🥴

I used to walk a lot in the woods when I was younger but the bears and coyotes have multiplied to the point of needing to take a gun. It's not worth the risk anymore.

Do you gals have Thanksgiving plans?? 🦃

Plans, oh how I wish....MWhat we will do...IF we get invited to the huge dinner that my SIL's step-father's family has, we will do that. Otherwise I will make a special dinner for the 2 of us. I could well not know until.Thursday morning.

One thing for sure, I will not ask my DD to choose between us and her in-laws at any holiday. That could well cause an argument between her and her DH.

Good grief Sunny. Do you have a gun that would kill a bear?

I am staying home Thursday. The men at Shelley's house will hunt in the early day and then go to Shelley's inlaws (across the street) for dinner. Shelley said she would cook lunch or I could cook lunch and then we decided we're both gonna be lazy. We plan to do some Black Friday shopping so we'll eat lunch together then. I might see if my step dad wants to meet for lunch on Monday. I thought of asking for Thursday but I imagine places will be so crowded and I just don't want too get in that crowd.

I did not started decorating. Sunny you have beat both Junie and me on starting.

That is true Sunny. IF I am lucky I will begin to decorate Friday...I know no-one will ask me to go shopping on Friday, mind you the only person that even might ask me to go shopping would be Valarie....and there is a 95% chance that she will not...

Sheri have a great day out Friday. Eat something good for me !

There is a good chance Rod and I will be home alone on Thursday as well. I bought a 4 pound turkey breast to cook if we are.

Bestofour, we have a .30-06 for big game, it'll take down a moose in one shot....and a bear easily.

Junie, I do hope you get to go out shopping.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving plans no matter what they are.😘

The only reason why I am ahead of you all with starting to decorate is that it gets colder here each day that passes. I took the grands to do their shopping yesterday, they had fun then went to McDonald's for their lunch.

I decorated the mantle and the pie safe in the back foyer so I've started. I think I like doing it a little at a time. Tomorrow I'll go with friends to the parade in Monroe. I had planned to go to the parade in Marshville today but I haven't felt all that good so I stayed home. It was 77° today. Just too warm for this time of year.

It was in the mid 70's here last week. Right now today it is 50 and overcast here. Unless things change there will be a hard freeze here Tuesday night.

So, Heidi and I will see if we can harvest any Broccoli from her plants on Tuesday night.

I hope Heidi had a great harvest.

I bought tickets on an antique snowshoe wreath at the fair last month. I got a call that I won it....I never win anything.

It is a faux wreath so it can be kept year to year, they even dropped it off to me.

I am putting the Christmas lights up today, I keep breaking the clips from the cold. Good thing I bought extra.

Very pretty. I win stuff all the time. I met my stepdad today for lunch. He's going to his sisters on Thursday and I'm glad. He lives alone and doesn't feel well a lot of the time. His sisters husband has brain cancer though so not sure how fun lunch will be. At least it gets him out of the house. Now that I'm not working I plan to visit him more often.

We're expecting cooler weather. Nothing like the two of you. Saturday the low is 26° with a high of 47° and it's supposed to be around those temps for the next 10 days. Have I said how happy I am that I don't have to get out in it and go to work smile

Sheri. It is fall going into winter after all. So I guess the colder temps are to be expected. And yes, if I remember correctly, you might have mentioned that you were happy to be retired. angel
I am happy for you as well. Enjoy your me time.
You have earned it.

Yes, enjoy your retirement to the fullest Bestofour.

I just got in from making a quick grocery run, they had the road blocked off on my way back home. There was a bad accident....I'm waiting to hear the news of who.
