So, so cool Diane! I just love those shots. I like to try to get good butterfly shots myself. Glad they posed for you!

Fantastic pictures Diane! They really ARE difficult to photograph = good job!
I really like the first one too! One kind of
flower is it on?
Is that a black eyed suzie? It matches it perfectly!

I saw a butterfly on my white yarrow this morning. He had those same colors, but arranged differently. I had to come back here to compare. Unfortunately no pic. {I wasn't willing to hang out my bathroom window, on the top floor, by one toe, to get a shot, and he flitted away anyway}

I'm glad you didn't try to get a picture Wrennie!!!!!!!!! My goodness I'd have to send the Medics I used for one armed runn'n Willy back to you!!. These butterflys aren't very big and some do have different patterns like yours ~~ but there sure are a lot of them!!

Thanks Wendy!! IT must have been my lucky day to see both of them together in the same area and they landed still long enough for Pictures.

Talking about resurrecting an old post...
It's so hot outside today there's not much action so I stood and watched this brave fritillary butterfly (I think) fly around.

When I first saw this I thought it was a cigarette and wondered who had been smoking in my yard.
When I moved in to pick it up the wings moved.
