Hi,

My name is Shirley. I just recently moved into a great house that you could tell at one time, the lady who lived here, loved her gardens, but after she passed on, the neglect of the gardens are showing drastically. A lady that I know sent me this link, when I constantly asked questions about this or that, after spending hours reading the posts, I had to join.

I hope that I don't ask too many questions, but I really don't know much about gardening. My mom, bless her soul, loved flowers but she had a "black thumb".

I can't wait to talk to you guys, hoping that you will be able to help me out some shocked )

Welcome to the site! Your mom sounds like me...I love flowers & such but can't make much live. That's why I joined this forum as soon as I found it. It has helped me tremendously. I've learned how to care for several of my existing plants, been given ideas on what else I want to do to my yard & what I can, feasibly, take care of, how to collect seeds from some plants & the people here are great!

Hello Shirley,

I have been gardening for many years thanks to my Grandmother. I have learned that the best way to have successful gardening is by trial and error. Knowing the proper plant food, the proper light and the proper watering are the keys to successful gardening. We all learn by the ones that do not succeed. Gardening is not an exact science, however, once we fail, we some how learn the right way;

Best of Luck to you!! luv <img border="0" alt="[tongue]" title="" src="graemlins/tongue.gif" />

Thanks for all of the welcomes. And answered questions so far smile

I have already learned quite a bit, like corn smut, ummm, not to use the rats droppings in the compost pile, and that I have a rasberry vine.

Thanks so much smile
