I'm Carly Svamvour from Toronto, Canada.

Know what? I am so glad to be here!

I do have a gardeners forum of my own on my writers' site at Wild City, but it's just my e pal Lorraine and me there right now.

I need to come out and discuss gardening.

My husband manages and superintends an apartment building - it's located on a lot and is built far into a small woodland that's more or less wild scrub.

I enjoy working with it - this year I've really gone to town on it ('scuse the cliche).

Mostly, I like to work with what's there - wildflowers, weeds that I like - throw out the ones I don't like.

I have bought a few plants - just the usual homebody stuff everybody gets each summer - petunias, bla bla.

Oh, I have so much to tell - I'm obsessed with photo journalizing, so I'll often be leaving links to my pictures.

I'm so glad to be here - did I say that? Well, I said it again - no charge.

Welcome to the forum Carly!!!! We have quite a few Canadian members........I'm really glad you found us, and I'm going to go out on a limb and say that you are too..... I'd love to look through your pictures if you start leaving links.....I always find that fascinating......

And by the way, everyone here is soooooo nice. Really, you couldn't have come across a friendlier group of gardeners........Hope you come around here often!!!!!!

Yes, everyone does seem nice here - I'm really glad I found the place.

Yeah - Canadians - some people automatically think we're up here drivin' sleds and husky dogs most of the year - ha ha! Seriously though - Toronto and its surrounds does have a fairly decent growing season - we plant in May and our gardens go through to mid-October most years.

I have planted things as late as August and got some results from it - but that's pot planting - just odd stuff really.

I once planted tomatoes in Orangeville, Ontario - it was August - I got fruit from them - the only reason I picked them from the vine was because we were moving. One of the neighbours ripened them on her windowsill and made chow chow from the green ones.
