Hi, wanted to introduce myself and thank you all for a great site.

I live near San Francisco, and just bought a home in Bay Point. I'm about 30 miles east of SF, and my weather seems to put me in zone 9, sunset zone 17. I am a pretty new gardener, and when I move into my new home I would mainly like to focus on growing fruits/vegetables. I have two big dogs, but I can fence around my growing area without too much trouble. I will be trying to spend as little as possible to start out with, as the cost of buying a home here really tapped me out! One thing I would definitely like to get going sooner rather than later will be fruit trees, and any other edible planting that will possibly take a long time to produce.

I have a few questions to start off with, but I will post those in the appropriate areas.

Thanks for your help in advance, and look forward to learning as I go!

Welcome to the site! I'm very new at gardening, myself & I'm trying to get my yard looking nice. I don't know about a lot of plants, so I can't give any advice but good luck on everything. It's an adventure but it's fun. I've really loved learning about so much since I've been on this site. Now, I can't drive down the road & keep my attention on my driving, LOL! I just love looking around & recognizing plants, now!
