I will be getting 16 of 'em soon - same guy that brought the mums - he comes home from work carrying these boxes, and his heart on his face and I know I gotta' dig some holes!

I imagine I'll see them within the next couple of weeks - what'll I do? Keep them going indoors till spring?

Or if the ground's still soft should I put them in and cover them with leaves?

I'm not sure about in Canada, but here in the South I've put them in the ground summer, fall, and winter. They're very hardy here and seem to do well as long as they have a little shade. Fall is probably the better choice. The root ball needs to be above the ground.

I don't think it would be a good idea here in Toronto - too cold now.

It's fairly cool in the office, and there's diffused light . . . I think that's where I'd better put them - once they get here, I mean.

Carly, Toronto is in zone 6. Mostly that would be zone 6b which is cooler, but downtown Toronto is in zone 6a which is the same zone that I'm in.

If it was me, I would plant them, or at least heel them in all together and then mulch around them well with leaves and cover with row cover to protect them. If you could do that, I think they would come through the winter stronger than if you kept them indoors.

Well, ok - let's wait and see when they're going to come - if they don't show up for a month, well I can't do much.

Right now it's too cold to go out and dig anything.
