Hello all. I live in Northern Virginia, 30 miles west southwest of D.C. I grow most everthing I get my hands on. I grow iris. Bearded- TB, MDB,BB, IB, SDB. I grow Sibs, La's & Japanese. Now I am engrossed in germinating the species iris. Spp versicolor and typholia germinate very well. All others take their good old time, germinating in groups of twos and threes. I am retired so haste is not important.

Yes Sue z retirement can be great but unfortunately I was forced to retire by myself as my bride was called home three years ago. but I have flowers and my animals to keep me busy.
As for my expert advise on roses that may be very debatable lol. I am organic just got three Seven Sisters roses gave to me today so I planted them waiting to see what happens.

yes and also a tropicana rose and two belinda delights. I am also on graden web as well as others sometimes people give them to you if you dig them up. there is a lady in ft worth right now wanting some one to come get (if I remember right) 3 rose bushes as she is starting a day care and don't want the kids to get hurt on them. just too far for me to go. flw

Hi JV. It's nice to meet you. I'm Belle, and am in upstate South Carolina. I spent a year of my life one week in Dallas/ Fort Worth. God bless Texas. LOL.

Hello Albee, I joined yesterday. One of my aunts lives in Hampton, VA. I've been to VA and traveled there quite a bit. In my opinion it's one of the most beautiful states in the United States.

Sue Z.... Helloooooo gal! Good to see you. I wondered it you'd be here!

Hey there JV. I always keep the garden organic. I mulch and use food scraps. The Ruth Stout method.

When I said I spent a year of my life one week in Dallas/Ft. Worth, and God bless Texas, it was a compliment. I loved every single minute of Texas. We just almost ate and drank ourselves to death. I've traveled around TX and the whole state is at the top of the list of my favorite places.
