It has been a while and I apologise for that. things just went into ultra busy around here.
had a medicasl scare, they said I had high potassium levels so I ahd to go in for another test, the torture of what it could be drove me bug nuts for about a week. then I get the call I was normal, must have been a bad test int he first place. Whew I was a bit nervy over it all.
Cabin has the water turned back on, the water goes off from Nov 1 til the temps stay a steady 40, but only after a good unthawing of the ground. so we have been putting docks in and the boats, cleaning and just getting everything ready for summer. I have the boat ready to plant, well this weekend I will as I need to get some compost, peat and top soil-I'll get it in and turned and in another 2 weeks I will be ready to put some stuff in there. I can't wait.
Here, the business is going gang busters, keepin me very busy.
I got the front yard all ready for summer. All mowed trimed, re-seeded. I planted petunias int he front sections of the three big pots along the hosue,, I am going to put geraniums in the back halfs of them, both with stand no water if I have to leave for a few days. They work really well for me in that way. Got a new red gazing ball and a new pedistal. and I am getting new yard ornaments this year. I have 2 eagles, and I am going to get some angels.
Yesterday I did the back yard, ohhh boy that was some work.
mowed, trimed, cleared out the yuck from the winter, got the yarrow bed cleared, the horseradish bed cleared. front of the deck cleared out. pulled weeds from around my clementis-double white. Planted three rose bushes, two red, and one a very slight pink. Ripped out the strawberries to do that, so now hmmm, gonna have to till up a section for those, lol. I have found a good spot for the fushia. have to keep bringin it in at night as it is still flirting with temps like 36. but I think it will do well under the apple tree. I kept an eye on it yesterday, and I think it has equal shade to sun and not enought to burn it. I do like fushias, have had some hard times not burning them up, it happens.
The big beds I went thru with the round up and I am gonna get those little viney weeds, took me a few years to get rid of the crab grass fromt he neighbors yard, so I am attacking the same way. The veggie bed, I will get some compost and till that in so that when it is time, no problem I can go for it without breaking my back.
I have missed this place. I hope every one is doing well.

Well, I haven't been here all that long myself - don't know when I joined - weeks ago, but I love it here.

I hope you're well over your medical problems and can enjoy the summer's gardening.

Welcome back.

wavey Elfinone,
How you doing??? It's not fun not feeling well...
But try to stay positive... Do little projects,
nothing over whelming....
Slow but steady, and do alot of pampering if you can, long baths and some nice lotions and little things like that that bring your spirits up..

And I am looking forward to seeing some pictures of that boat, what fun that will be....

Oh, good grief - time does fly, eh? It will be a year in July!

It seems like only days ago I sauntered in here and started puttin' my 2 cents in.

I do know it is one of the friendliest forums I know - everybody treats you well here. Like mine -Wild City - mine's a writers' site, of course - there aren't a lot of people there, but those that participate seem to know how to communicate without getting in each others' faces.

Here at the garden forum there are about 50 people in and out of here a day (it would be pretty rowdy if all 5,000 came at once - ha ha!).

But you figure, all those people popping in and out and no fights? That's good moderators, and people that know how to be civilized.

Kudos to all of us! We're pretty swell people!

Ok . . . Ok . . . I'll get off my soapbox . . .

Happy to see you back, Elfinone, and I am glad the tests came back negative. False positives have a way of disrupting your emotions, but further testing with some clear negative results help get you back in the swing of things.

I can imagine how you felt. My daughter was tested for cystic fibrosis when she was only 18 months old. The first test came back positive and scared me to pieces. Further testing led to a negative result and got me back on track. Very scary. I was riding an emotional train until the final results were in.

I have to agree Carly. When I first came on, everyone was very nice. I like "nice", mean people should spend more time with themselves.
I will be here alot as I am getting things done so that I can. If there is one thing I do love it is playin in dirt or just talkin about it,lol.

Hi elfinone,

I have some coriander seeds if you need them for that new herb bed. I have a list up in seed exchange and just added the coriander this morning. I am just as proud as a peacock to be able to add something that I grew with my own hands lol. I just had to add that. Your place sounds amazing. I saw a picture of the boat that you put up a while back I think. I love the idea. That's a planter to brag about to say the least.

A red glazing ball sounds really pretty. I hope pictures are in our future. I love seeing what everyone has done.
