Hello everyone,
I live in Massachusetts. Have purchased a 9 x 9 greenhouse and am wondering what to use for the flooring. I've considered gravel for under the plant tables and cement pavers to walk on, I've also considered building a deck with spaces between the 2 x 8's for drainage. Also concerned with conserving heat inside the greenhouse.
Thanks for any help.

Hey Tim,
Welcome, I have a greenhouse, and I LOVE it!!,
my husband used wood for the base of mine...
When he gets home I'll ask him the exact measurements and what he did and used......

I'm also going to move your post into the Gardener's Chat...

You'll get some more replies in there..

Weziee13,

Well I bought the Clearspan GreenThumb Medium backyard greenhouse thru FarmTek which had a reasonable price for that size. I also bought the fan, heater, plant table, 60% shade for it during the summer months and solar powered vent openers.

I am thinking of putting down gravel under the plant benches and patio block for the isle. This weekend I will be starting on floor and opening the greenhouse parts.

I am growing this year vegies (Tomatos, pepper, Cucumber, and squash. flower I am doin Angel Trumpet, Petunia, Ballon flower, Asters, Bagonias, Impatients, and others.

Tim,
Is this the one?
Backyard Hobbie Starter Greenhouse????
I couldnt' find a picture of it on line,..
***I will have to find my catalog and see which one it is..***
I ABSOLUTELY cool LOOOOOOOOOOOVE idea
Lets the dirt fall thru and water too..

Gotta watch build up though and start to get weeds and stuff like molds...

Stone help heat up the greenhouse too, and hold your heat in over night when the stones are warm.

Yes, you definately need the shade coverings during the summer if you intend to still use it.
It's HOT in there.

I double did my greenhouse's because it's so cold up here, I have no heater, so I bought a couple of those 3 tiered~zippered ones' and used them inside the greenhouse for double protection..
Then once the plants got established, I then put the little greenhouse's out side and they were a little cooler, then finally I was able to harden off the plants out side of the greenhouse with out protection..
