is it ok to use a neutralizer like what I use for aquariums to condition the water for a Venus flytrap?

I have an existing habitat set up for amphibians with otherwise perfect growing conditions, complete with humidity and insects, and was wondering if I could just set the pot in the shallow area of the frog pond.

I should also note that the water passes through a charcoal filter constantly to keep it clean.

thanks

Hi Doug, I'm sure that your flytrap would be very happy living in those conditions, and if your amphibs like the water, the flytrap will too!

Thanks, here is a picture of one of the tank's other residents.

And this is a close look at how the flytrap is situated.

there is a flourescent light above the tank, and it sits next to a basement level window, so it gets indirect sunlight too.
If any of this sounds like trouble, let me know.

How come I can't see the pictures? There are two box outlines with a red X in the middle of each picture. Catlover

one other question:
am I supposed to disable a cricket before feeding it to the flytrap?
frown
I'm not exactly overjoyed at the idea of pulling off their legs first, but they seem to be jumping out of the jaws before they can close all the way.

Every time I purchase a flytrap, it dies... is it me or are they somewhat difficult?
