Ours is the same Loz, 50's today,
and more snow after that!!!
It sure has been the up and down's of weather
this year...Hot then cold, then colddddddddder, then back to warm....poor plants... <img border="0" alt="[perplexed]" title="" src="graemlins/confused.gif" />
No wonder they get so confused..
I am starting to get spring fever, went to Wally~World and stocked up on some seeds, the
.10 and .25 were there...so I got some of the basic's that I use...
Getting the greenhouse a bit warm earlier will be
my main thing to figure out how to do...

***Accidental Farmer,
I'll have to take a gander the next time
I am on my way to my brother's house..
That's the way we go to see him..
***Small world***
Yes it is deep out this way, but, believe it or not, that's mostly from a storm or two as of recent...It's warm and cold weather, has had the snow cover gone twice, this warm fron today will work on what's there from this time. Unbelievable how it does that, if it hadn't melted, I can't imagine how deep it would be!!!

Well 4 inches of snow last night with another 6 inches for tonight. It's getting scary, I know that spring is supposed to be close but most of the people around here are running out of wood, and they heat with woodstoves.

We are under so much snow that even the people that sell it can't get it out from under all the snow. I think we should be good. This year we burned more wood than we ever have. The strong winds are to blame.

Hey rozy, I hear ya! I had temps up in the 50's today, and it's supposed to get colder & yuckier starting tonight, for the rest of the week. I took advantage of it today. I went out, and spread out the 7 bags of compost I had bought a few weeks ago, when it was nice out, and then I started digging the dirt to kinda mix the compost with the soil. (I had already removed the top grassy part a few weeks back.) I remembered to put on my icky sneakers, but had no gloves on.. soooo.. about 4 handwashings later, I can about see my nails again..lol.

this weather here is driving me nuts. Saturday it was light jacket weather outside of chicao, yesterday. upper 60's, this morning, it was 50 and now. this afternoon. It is going to dip inot the 30's and stay that way the rest of the week. I couldn't resist. I cleaned out the back yard here, thats first on the list, as I have a dog, lol. AT the cabin, I cleared out the boat that I use as a planter, aned i got the mum bed all cleared out. I have babies comin up and the iris's are starting to pop, and so are the daffs.
I wish it would get to nice enough to begin some serious dirt playin out there, lol.
wink

Hey Rosy, you really want to dig? I have a three foot snow drift that appeared infront of my house over night that needs to have a path dug through it! laugh Its March and over Sunday/Monday we had at least another foot of snow fall!!!!! I was out walking my daog tonight on the - 20C (-5 F) weather, and the side walk has 6 foot snowbanks!!! its nearing ridiculous how much snow has fallen and how much is still in the forcast!!! I'm thinking Wiaton Willy (the groundhog) was definatly wrong about spring being early this year. Ah well guess this means I'll get atleast one more chance to go snoewhoing this year

Shani, I know how you feel. It started snowing through the night and it is still snowing now. Another 8-10 inches for us by dinner turning to freezing rain (there goes our power) turning to heavy rain- 35 mm of it. If that turns to snow we will get about 2 ft of it all. This has got to be the weirdest winter that I have ever seen in my life. nutz

Yesterday was beautiful. It was supposed to hit 60F, but I think it got up to 67F, and I was out in the yard, spreading compost over where my veggie bed is going to be. Getting dirty, and loving it. Today however, totally different. It was raining in the night, and at 5am when I was up, it was raining. I went upstairs to get the girls up for school at 7am, and it was all WHITE outside. Yes, it started snowing. The temps are only supposed to drop as the day goes on. It's 30F now, and that's almost a 40 degree difference from yesterday's high. That's about as high as it's gonna get today. While it is snowing, and sticking to cars, sidewalks, grassy areas, etc.. it isn't sticking to the road. I think we've had enough above freezing days to keep the road from freezing over. *fingers crossed*

Yesterday this time it was 63 degrees outside. Today, it's 22 degrees with winds gusting as high as 55 mph. I did see a goldfinch that was starting to show his bright yellow summer plumage though.

Well we ended up with over a foot of snow, now it is raining hard. The rain is freezing as soon as it hits the ground. The car is covered in a half inch sheet of ice. They closed all businesses and stated for everyone to stay off the roads.

Just north of us is the Quebec border, about a 45 minute drive. I don't know if we have anyone from there with us but they were supposed to get 50 cm of snow followed by 4 cm of rain with winds of 100 km/hr. The last time they had a storm this bad they went for almost 2 weeks with no power. The whole place was a disaster area.

The freezing rain is so bad that they pulled all vehicles from the roads here. Only emergency and government plows are out. Dh has been driving snow plow since 8 am this morning, it's going to be a long night for him.

The power has been flickering all morning, we should lose it soon. It rained so hard that it melted a couple of ft of snow. It's 6*C outside, never seen that before in March. We are getting wind gusts of 100 km/hr, southern NB 160 km/hr. It's just like an early spring hurricane outside.

Dh got off work at 1 am this morning and was called back out at 4 am. The roads are a total mess, we are supposed to get a flash freeze by dinner time and more snow.

Yesterday, it was cloudy & cool.. we started getting some rain, then I head noise with it.. it turned to I'm guessing sleet.. it was tiny balls of ice, but too small to be hail. Then, shortly after, it stopped, the sun came out, and it all melted..lol.

Today, it's supposed to get up to near 50F, so I'm hoping it's warm enough to go out & do some digging! I have more to get ready.

Meg, congratulations on the 10 pound wt. loss. I think any lost is ome not gained.

We've had terrible wind here. It's not cold, but so windy you can't be outside. We've got a lot of limbs down and the tin roof on the barn is blown about 1/4 way back. I don't think it's blown off just back. It's hard to find that tin stuff too.
