I bought a small aloe plant recently and it is not doing very well. I water it when completely dry and it is in very bright light. What am I doing wrong??? Any help would be much appreciated.

You might be killings them with kindness. It is a desert plant, and can go months without a drink. I ignore mine for a month or so at a time, then just trickle water on them never getting them completely drenched. I have some in a north facing window and some in an east facing window with taller plants in front of them. Hope this helps.

For an Aloe, lots of light means right on a windowsill that faces east or west so that it will get several hours of direct sun. If it gets that much light, then it will need more water. Allow the soil to dry down about halfway into the pot.

Using too large a pot can lead to root rot and droopiness. Don't know if that appies to yours.

can you explain"not doing well?"and what type of soil is it in& if you bought it recently did it come with one of them foil things for the pot to sit in?if so take that thing off.when you water it does the water pour out of bottom of plant?if you squeeze a leaf whats it feel like/?firm or mushy?what lighting is it in right now?
