I went out today and bought myself a really cool cement pillar to display my sundial on in the garden. Anyone know what to use to adhere the two together?? The sundial is a metal and the pillar is cement.

And this is a REALLY dumb question but I assume the dial needs to face north right? I've never had one so who knew? Duh

I am just afraid of the wind picking it up or someone leaning on it and possibly getting hurt somehow. Maybe some kind of epoxy that is used for swimming pools or boats would work. I will have to look into that.

I love your frog idea on your sundial. I take it you love frogs? I put one on the side of my birdbath last year. The birds just ignored him...well...actually they did more than that but you all have imaginations. Let's just say my froggy is spotty now wink

You all are soooo funny!

I don't have a sundial, but there is a huge, elaborate one outside of our local library - it's fairly new - they put it there when they built the library about 5 years ago.
I'll try to take a picture of it soon and post it here. Duh

laugh laugh I have to admit, the idea of looking at your watch to match the time NEVER occured to me, but seems much simpler since most of already own one! Raise your hand if you own a compass AND know how to use one? not me... laugh laugh

my daughter is looking over my shoulder saying, "do the angel, do the angel..." so for Lesleigh, here goes:

Thanks for all your help with this.

Well, I gotta be honest here.....I can't wear a watch (alergic) so I bought a sundial.

I just can't figure out how to get it in my purse.
