Tipster_Chad Member Joined: Apr 2006 MI, USA	Hey everyone! I'm new to the group! Let me tell you a bit about myself. I am 15-years-old and I am COMPLETELY taking over the "garden-duties" for my family this year. And I can't wait to get some seeds in the ground!!! I am getting a later start than most of you because it stays colder longer here in Michigan, but I've already got the ground tilled, fertilized and ready to go!! My big "experiment" this year is going to be carrots and corn. Neither have really turned out exactly right before, and if anyone has any tips for me, please let me know. Well, that's it for now! First, I'd like to say, some members will come along and Welcome you to TGHF, and say HELLO!!! But I would like to suggest that you copy and paste most of your post here, and re~post it into The Vegetable and Fruit Section.. You'll get the gardener's who specialize in food gardening come thru there and give you a hand.. Corn can be tricky, the way you plant it, and the wind needs to send pollen down to the ears from above.. And Carrots need deeply tilled, fine dirt to grow long... And you used my most favoritest word in the gardening world, "EXPERIMENT".... I love to do it, and see which method works the best, easiest, or better for the plant... Pull up a chair and ask all the questions you need..
