I have an ivy plant hanging in my bathroom right by the window. It apparently doesn't get enough light in there. What can I put there instead since the ivy plant is almost dead?

which direction does the window face? is it clear glass with a curtain or blind, or is it that frosted stuff they like to put in bathrooms so much.

I have no idea what kind of ivy it is. There is a blind on the window that I try to open in the morning but most mornings I leave for work before my husband gets into the shower and he doesn't remember to open them. The window is facing north.

try moving it to a south or west facing window. if it is a light problem, that will fix it. then you can check out something to go in its place. a golden pothos or a heart-leaf philodendron would do well in the bathroom window. have one of each in my northfacing bathroom window and they are fine.

And both of those would be fine with no light at all? I know my husband will never remember to open the blinds.

i have one of my blinds cracked about 2 inches, but... grew both in the office whre the light was only on about 10-12 hours a day. was an interior office with no windows, so if the light was off, was totally off. they should be ok.

Unless your husband mends his ways, no plant will survive in a bathroom with the blinds closed.

plants in offices without windows will survive because they receive about 8 hours per day of FLUORESCENT light, which is very good for plants. Rgeular incandescent lights used in the home are not helpful to plants.
