Toronto expected freezing rain this morning - weather network says not till the wee hours of Friday morning now.
We'll have to see.
This storm will be in the northern states first, then southwestern Ontario - I don't know what's happening in the north.

It's here! Yesterday and last night we received 10-12 inches of snow, still snowing, expecting snowfall of 2-4 inches today and ANOTHER 4-6 over night! They said a few days ago we were going to get 10 to 18 inches of snow - they were right for a change! I was just out playing with my English Mastiff in the snow - even he had a hard time moving around and he's 150-pound puppy! Snow is VERY heavy. We REALLY needed the moisture though!

We were supposed to have a nice, sunny day and then the storm was to move in late afternoon / early evening. The sun disappeared hours ago and there is a nasty breeze. NOT the weather I was hoping for once March arrived!

Plantqueen - I forget, which part of Minnesota do you live in?
It's unreal. It's like winter saved up all the snow for one big shot. We've hardly had any snow at all this winter! Had a brown Christmas!

I live in south central MN!
We had a brown Christmas also but we have gotten a few good snowfalls in January and February! Not as much as usual though!

Whew! It's wild out there now! A blizzard! You can hardly see out the window!
I hate to think of people driving home from work in this mess.

Started here about 4 pm Kenny. It's nasty out there...wind gust up to 70 km...wet snow and the wind isn't even sure which way to blow. Just watched the news and Hwys 400 and 11 are shut down. The temperature is going to rise a bit and then it will turn to freezing rain. That scares me...power outages are very likely tonight. I'm willing to bet that tomorrow will be a snow day in York and northern Durham region Kenny.

The freezing rain's a problem here - Jeff's job is to clear the walks - well, there's just a little too much walk for this kinda' storm.
Would it occur to the owners of this apartment building that he needs proper equipment? Like a proper snowblower?
Noooooo . . . of course not.
But in all fairness, if he insisted and went up to Cdn Tire and bought one, they'd pay up for it - he's just too damned stubborn that one.
Anyway, he can't manage that on his own - we would have gone out there tonite to work on it but it was just too windy - the wind would have just blown it back.
Now if there's freezing rain on top of that? Oh, Lordy . . . then again, it's going up to 3 above tomorrow so a lot of it might melt off.

We have gotten over a foot of snow since 9:30 this morning. We could get up to 17". This is all on top of what we had last weekend. There are people around Marshalltown and the Amanas that still don't have power and this isn't going to help. The wind and the snow have drifted all the roads coming into my town completely shut. My husband and one other guy(who is out of town) plow the roads herein town, and he was out earlier trying to get ahead of it, but finally gave up. Said will go back out tomorrow. We are under a blizzard warning until 6:00 p.m. tomorrow night. I am going out Saturday morning when it is all finished to take some pictures. Some of the drifts are really huge!! And some of those are in my yard!

Kenny, don't plan on it - it's going to 3 above celsius tomorrow - I'm sure it will be calmer by then.
And it is Friday - so you've got the whole weekend to hope for a Monday storm - ha ha!

Most of our snow is finished, but the wind is gusting up to 50 miles an hour. My town was famous last night, it was on the 10:00 news. They said if you live in Thor, don't try getting anywhere, because every road going out of town is drifted shut. That's really great as we are so small that we don't have a little store to get milk or anything. We have also lost our power several times. It keeps coming back on after a bit, but I worry that with this wind, it will go out for longer. Oh well, I just keep going through my seeds and my catalogs and dream about better weather.

We lost power from 2:10 am to 8:40 am . . . that meant the boilers were down - no heat - brrrroooo! But it could have been worse - we coulda' had that storm and lost power when the temps were 18 below (celsius). The sun is peekin' out right now - the slush is melting, the street's a river - light flurries this afternoon, with sun and the temp at 2 ABOVE celsius! YAHHHHOOOOOO! And Kenny got the day off school - congrats! I know he'll be spending that time studying - ha ha! Other than that - everything's copasetic - a few trees down around town and there's people who still don't have power, but we'll get there.
