I have three gardenia because I love the fagrant flowers but I need help. well one has no buds and the leaves are turning brown, everything on the top of the plant is green and looks great, if one were to lift the leaves he/she would she bare roots underneath, what is wrong 2) my other two pots look good but they are dropping their buds, the buds get brown and fall off, what am i doing wrong

If I understand you, you can see the roots of one of the plants at the soil surface. That doesn't sound good to me. Check to see if they need to be repotted. You may want to put some soil on top of the exposed roots. Not much, just enough to cover that will stay put when watering.
