I would like to get some ideas from others on how to plant an area that is 3 feet wide, and 15 feet long. This area is next to a wall which is 4 feet high, and gets partial shade throughout the day, mostly sun in the morning, shade in the evening. Can anyone give me any ideas or landscaping plans?

Hi Neil and welcome to the site!

Ok, is this an area that you use to walk through, like a pathway? If there's a wall on one side of it...what is on the other side? Also, what kind of soil? wink

My ? would be what kind of material is the wall made of? Stone or brick would reflect and hold more heat so you could a wider variety of plants.
Also, what kind of soil is it??????

I'm guessing that you want stuff to stay green all year. What will do that in ND? If you could plant climbing plants along the back even if you need to put up trellises on the wall, you could put annuals or bulbs along the very front for spring color.
