Got myself a few new
plants for Valentine day and one of them is a Mimosa Pudica, the one known as Sensitive
plant. I can't seem to find a whole lot of information about it and I've got a few questions about its care.
Right now it's on my "humid shelf" ( 80% humidity ) and it seems happy, I believe it even has some new growth. It's still in its original 3" pot, and I watered it the day I got it but I'm not sure how much water it requires. I read somewhere that it's one of those "Throw-away after one season"
plant - I don't like this, I'm one of those people who won't even throw away a cutting without trying to make it root !
I also read that the interesting folding action of the
plant shouldn't be abused as it could weaken the
plant - how then would one repot a mimosa without having it collapse completely ?
I saw a wild dove outside yesterday - hopefully it's a sign of coming
spring !
