I hate the thought of putting them in the ground. They'd look good in that rock garden I started, but I just don't want them out there in the winter.

I'd like to keep them inside - can I transfer them to potting soil and raise them inside?

I had mine inside for a few months when I first got them, then I transferred them outside in pots. They did fine in the house, but much better outside.

I am bringing mine in next week.. I hope they survive. I love them so much

Yeah . . . I'll put them in potting soil. I don't like to bring them in from outside with the garden soil - you don't know what bugs are in it.

Guess that'll happen at the end of September.

yeah I'm having the bug problem since bringing in my plants too. I hope everything will be fine. I got rid of them all last time by washing the leaves with soap and water. Seemed to do the trick just fine.

I might just do that - bring them in without changing the soil.

I spray them with the light suds (it works outside, or seems to - the bugs seem to stop making the holes).

Thanks for sharing that.

Weezie, I have a baby one that I took from my mom's neighbor's garden. It is sitting in a glass of water on my kitchen sink to get roots. I think there are a few roots now, coming from underneath the chick, not on the stem itself. Anyways, would it be ok for me to plant this outside this year, or would I be better off keeping it in a pot until the spring? I am glad to hear it's hardy, but not sure if it'll "establish" before it's maybe too cool for it?

no I dont have pics of my plans up yet.

I figure it would be better to bring them in because they are planted in pots.. I didn't think they could handle all the snow and ice build up on the pot.

What do you think?
