I have a Honeysuckle plant that I planted spring of last year. I have tried to find the Tag (as I save them all) of what kind it is but cannot seem to locate it? The honeysuckle has an orange/red trumpet and dark green almost slick waxy looking leaves.

But my question is: it was growing real well then our first freeze came along (I live in Texas) and bang like that it lost all its leaves and turned brown! It is now still cold out and it seems like the ends of the branches of this plant are brittle. Is this normal for the honeysuckle to die out and back during winter? Will it come back or did it die in the freeze?

The plant was doing so well then poof it went brown so you can understand my concern!

....I'm way up here in Canada....and honeysuckle grow readily here. It loses it's leaves and goes dormant each winter....only to bud and regrow each spring. Don't give up on it yet!

In NC you can't even kill honeysuckle. Don't worry. It will come back.
