A Gardeners Forum Forums Gardening Reference Gardening in 2004 Indian Paintbrush ????

Up here in the mountains of Montana there is a beautiful flower we all call indian paintbrush. It has vibrant red to orange blooms depending on what time of the year it is. Right now they are almost fire engine red. Does anyone know if that is the real name or any information on if I can grow them in my own flower garden. If I trnsplant them from the mountains will they grow. or is there domestic seed available? If anyone has some or knows where to get some I would be truely greatful.

I thought it was a little strange where the maps said it grew wild in the eastern states, but said nothing about Montana. It grows everywhere here.
