The blooming of Easter
cactus is triggered by the number of hours of day and night, just like Christmas
cactus. If they are kept in a room where you have artificial light during the evening hours the
plant will think it is always August and not go through the gradual change of the seasons and only put a few
flowers out at odd times of the year.
If you move it to a room that stays lighted roughly like the natural light outdoors in early January and feed it with half-strength "bloom" fertilizer when you see new growth, it will probably be blooming for Easter.
