I have an area that receives very little filtered sum due to an extremely large maple tree. What shurbs, bushes, plants could I put there? I love the hostas with the HUGE leaves. I know there are so many different varieties and I think? they do well in the shade. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I live in zone 5. Thank you, Donna.

First thing that comes to mind is a bleeding heart(love them!)......and impatiens of course...ummm, coleus, begonias, oakleaf hydrangeas, maidenhair ferns, winged euonymus.....

That's a place to start anyway....

I love Mrs. Moon Pulminaria *Lungworts*
they have a pretty flower that is blue(ish)purple and turns to pink when it's fading....
Or is the other way around, I can't remember now..
They're a spring/early summer flower.. but
the leaves stay pretty all summer into fall long.

Yes Hosta Sum and Substance is BIG. I did not think it would get soooo big so fast. It covered a fern and a hosta near his territory.

If you do not want to dig it up or its neighbors give it plenty of room.
