Well most greenhouses , atleast the good ones, come well prepared for high windgusts and just anyother weather you can think of. Its really all in how well you put it together.

As for the base thats up to what your prefer. If you are planning to plant spring crops in it during the winter then id go with just a grass base, but if your just going to use in for starting plants id go with rock, concrete, or some black plastic as the floor.

Ive been wanting a greenhouse for a long time, but i dont want to pay the bill that comes with it. I hopw you enjoy it !!

As weezie states it really does depend on your budget. Most quality greenhouses come with self-opening vents which open and close the vents according to temperature. In some cases these can be added to existing greenhouses.
Happy gardening!

I like those alot...

But I might have one problem with them with my
home, we jokingly call my house/property....
lala "WIND ALLEY".......... laugh
There seems to be a JET STREAM that
goes right thru mine and my mom's backyards
and takes things with it...we can laugh,
but sometimes it's not funny..
We lost a car port thingie one storm....
It was like a kite in the back yard..

we have alot of wind here too. But I think if I sew the cover myself and double (maybe trible sticth the seams then it should work.

Looking right now at other PVC plans. I typed in PVC greenhouse plans in the search box and came up with a lot more to look at.

belinda, one thing you might want to consider if wind is really a factor, go up one size on all your pvc... will add a little to the cost, but will be a little sturdier.
