snwsxbsktbll Junior Member S Joined: Apr 2006 California	Hi, my tomato plant is already in a pot, and the pH seems a bit high and I would like to lower it by one point. Is there a way to lower the pH of the soil if the plant is already planted in the soil? Thanks.

peppereater Member Joined: Apr 2005 norman, ok	What is the pH? And how much organic material is in the pot? ( This can help moderate the effect of pH value.) Also, how recently did you plant, in what size pot? Soil sulphur is typically used to lower pH...in the past, aluminum sulphate was recommended, but I don't see that recommended anymore...I don't know if it had drawbacks or not, but aluminum buildup in soil probably isn't good. Soil sulphur can take a while to actually acidify soil.
