I've never grown an avacado so, I'm
not sure about the tip of the
seed..
going up or down..
but what you discribed sounds like the tap root..
I think all roots start out with the one root
coming out of the
seed...*it's concentrated from the tiny area from the size of the
seed..*
Then once it gets out, *remember it has to be a good sized for #1 breaking out of the
seed, and #2 for breaking into the dirt out in the "wild",
hence that would be why it looks large or long or big..
And any of the
seeds roots' I've seen,
to seem to go out the split side of the
seed,
then it finds it's way to which way would be down,
so it may come out and do a quick turn to the direction it needed to go...
I'm tryin' to think who grew them..
Papito, Catlover???
