One time, many years ago, I planted an acorn in a pot and forgot about it, in fact I put the pot in a closet.
Imagine my surprise months later to find a pale yellow little oak tree sprouting in the closet !
It was about 10 inches high too, and really cute.
It greened up in the sun and grew nicely.
