I am new at having house plants.
I got some to purify the air.

I got one gerbera daisy anual and two gerbera perennials.
(On the tags of the perennials it says, gerbera/jameson(ii)OR(tt) CA. Mixed.

I had asked the sales woman how to care for them but I must be confused bc they are not doing well.

I was told the the Gerbera daisy anual HATED sunlight. And the the perennials like some sun but partial and not in the heat of the day.

All three plants are not doing well, yellow turning leafs and limpy, and the flowers of the perennials are wilting and dying.

How much should I water them?
And is there any hope to bring them back to life?
They still have around 70% green.

Thank you!

Hi there...rather than try to confuse you further about your Gerbera Daisies, here is a good webpage with lots of info that should help you. I grow Gerberas outside and have never attempted to keep them indoors. They are considered a perennial in zones 8 - 10 or 11, I think, and Annuals in colder climates. You could also do a Google Images Search to identify which varieties you have. I grow the Gerbera jamesonii in a south facing bed near the house and they get about six hours of morning, early afternoon sun.

if you have them indoors, give them as much light as possible.

also, you probably water too much.

I know this is kind of an old post, but a friend pointed it out to me... I would suggest planting them outside if you haven't already. When I wintered my Gerberas indorrs, I had a hard time keeping them healthy and happy. I'm not certain if they go through a dormant period or not....Mine seemed to perk back up as spring was arriving. They really seem to prefer outside and are happy healthy plants in the garden.
