Looks to me like one of those double bloomed hyperhydrated beautifulupagus plants. A double blooming over watered beautiful plants that I kill. Gorgeous poppy though! Wish I knew.

I believe it's called shirley poppies, Papaver rhoeas. When the poppies first started blooming at the greenhouse I work at, I had to feel them . They always looked like crepe paper to me and I wanted to see if they felt like it too. Nope, they don't . That is a beautiful poppy.

Gosh Dodge, that's pretty cool!

Whatever it is, when it goes to pod & gives you seeds, would you be willing to swap some? (Actually, Poppies of ANY kind will do!) There's a section above my Iris row where I have Poppies growing with my Nigella, & I'm always on the look-out for more kinds of Poppies.

I haven't had much luck with commercial Poppy seeds... don't know why, Duh although I do believe that Poppy seeds need to be cold-treated.

Thanks, Dodge! kissies I don't suppose that thinking about seed swapping is high on any priority lists at this point in time, but I'm planning next year's gardens already! thumbup
