Hi....
Has anyone ever heard or grown this plant?
I watched a garden show on PBS Sunday in Springfield, Oregon and it was showing them and they were so pretty.
I would like to get some but i cannot find any places that have seeds or plants.
I will try and look for them when i go out there in July.

Greg... No, Never heard of them but I went searching for it but only found Jerusalem Cherry And it appreared to be a tree/shrub
The one your talking about is it a house plant?

It appeared to be a perennial on the show..
He had it outside in a long flowerbed.
Maybe its just available around Oregon?

Sorry it was Jerusalem Sage...from a PBS show called Smart Gardening...

plant ID- Salvia Family with Monica Guza and Dr. Allan Armitage

plants in the Lamiaceae family all have square stems, opposite leaves and whorled flowers.

*Monica and Allan talked about these plants:

Phlomis or Jerusalem Sage. The most commonly grown is Phlomis russeliana. It is an evergreen perennial with large, rough heart-shaped leaves. Thick flower stems bear whorls of hooded, butter yellow flowers in summer. Cold hardy in zones 4-9 heat tolerance zones 9-1.

Sorry about getting the name worng...i knew it was Jerusalem something...i am always looking for strange name plants to grow...LOL

It might be....the pbs' garden show site as i posted said it was jerusalem sage...
Maybe there are 2 names for it?

Jobes Tears, is a corn type of plant.. What I mean, it has long thin leaves like a corn stock.

Is that what you saw?//
