This mystery tree started growing on my property a few years back and so I just decided to let it grow for a while since it looked like it might make a good screening tree.
It reminds me a little of a crabapple tree, but I know that's not what it is. It's a fast grower too! I have to wonder if this mystery tree came by way of deer???
It's now about 12"-15" tall and growing!
My brother who does landscaping took a look at it and had no clue to what is was.

Sorry, I'm not sure how to resize the photos.

Any ideas of what this is?
Thanks,
Susan

I'm guessing it's a Black Gum--Nyssa sylvatica. Black gum has a tendency to have 90 degree branch angles with a lot of branches perpendicular to the trunk.
