Hi, I just got this plant today from a freecycle group member, she was unsure of the name but said it is an ivy. I am wondering what ivy she is. I have just started to try my hand at plants again but not to familiar with alot of them . Could some one give me a hand? Thanks [*]

It is one of the forms of grape ivy. (Cissus) I'm not sure exactly which one. Here is a link with some photos and descriptions of several varieties with information on culture.

This link shows a Cissus with leaves that look like yours, although the hairy nature of the stems doesn't show up in the photo.

I used to have a couple of forms of grape ivy, and both had the reddish hairy stems like the one in your picture.
