This is another plant that I got from my grandparents, and I was told it was some kind of ivy. Their memory is not as sharp. The leaves are shaped like elephant ears, but they are small. The ones in the pic are wilted due to travel time. It's a vine. Does anyone know what kind of ivy this is, or if it is an ivy?

i've had a cutting for years and it didn't do much...was just a plant that would grow a leaf and lose a leaf...

then i moved it to a spot where it gets more sunlight (sw exposure) and BOY did it take off!!

i guess you can call it a vine...i cut off whatever bolted and rooted it, so what i've got left is just plants, not vines.

The only reason I said it was a vine is because when I took a cutting from their plant, it has spread out over a 3x10 foot area, and had climbed up a wire fence. I had to dig up roots along the stems and took 2-3 foot cuttings from the roots/stems that had leaves on them from the ground.
You can see the 2 stems that I put in the ground forming a "V". I'm having to give it some TLC to get it to look even remotely like what my Meme's plant looked like. I would like to one day have a yard as splendid as my grandparent's yard.
It's taken me 4 years to get just my one flower bed to look beautiful, but I love every minute I spend working with my flowers.

I think I have a plants like this. One grows wild in the yard with green and some variegated green and white leaves. It vines up the fence. You cant kill it! It will grow in water forever. I purchased one that looks like my wild one only its leaves were green and pink. Are they the same family? They look like arrowheads. The pink one is inside and is not happy. I replanted it when I got it and it has grown in a pot in a window with evening sun. But its leaves are wilty looking and some leaves yellow and die. The pretty pink look has paled and it generally looks pitiful. I water once a week and have fertilized once. plant is about 6 mos. old. What am I doing wrong?

there are syngomium podophyllum like you describe. but you may have a caladium instead.
