What is this tulip doing? I'm waiting for it to yellow so I can pull the leaves up, but I haven't seen this before.

Hi buzylady,

I have no idea about your tulip but what kind of clematis is in your web album? It is beautiful!

Thanks
I believe it is a Jack Manti. That's what I was told.

I looked up the jack mani. It doesn't really look like it. I don't know what it is. But it really is blue. Oh well.

Thanks for checking into it Diane. I love the blue ones as well. Maybe someone will come along and identify it?

Looks like a seed pod to me. Let it dry and then harvest the seeds. I have never done this before but was just told that with daffodils that growing from seeds takes a few years to get flowers. Hopefully someone lese will come along that has actually done this and can give you good advice.

I thought it looked like a seed pod. Didn't know tulips went to seed.

Thanks for the clematis info. That looks more like it.

sure norhaini. If you want some tulips, I could send a few bulbs that are easy to grow.

that is the tulip seed pod

most folks clip that off early after the bloom, so that the energy is saved in the bulb to use in flowering next spring rather than producing seeds
