It almost looks like a Wood lily or a Day lily but not quite. I would venture a guess that it is one of the lily varities, just a matter of figuring which one. It is very pretty!

Oh man, Jogger, you beat me to it!!!
Yes, that is a Croscosmia!!!
That is on my list of all time favorites,
Of course, I dont' think that there are many that are NOT ON MY LIST!! teehee!!!

******LLady,
They are so nice...
I have the orange ones, for my zone they are a bit borderline, if the weather gets really down and freezing temps and January thaws and not enough snow, they are can have the capabilities of being a tender perennial...
but if it's kept mulched or chopped leave mold or branches, they're okay...
I think you are alot warmer climate than me over here in my zone 5, but you will enjoy them..
Does your friend do anything to them to over winter them??

The red ones', named Lucifer are down right gorgeous!!! thumbup flw cool
And there are several more varieties too, mixed orange with red's, etc.....I think even some kind of yellow's too!

Weezie, l have several clump's of them, like the way you have nice folliage with their lovely green spear's as l call them, then all of a sudden you have these orange flower's to really enhance them, the flower's alway's remind me of Freezia's, pity the have not the same scent.
