Hello All!!
I am a new member and I am really trying to get some names of flowers, small bushes/trees, and etc that plant and grow well here in Houston. I live about a mile or so from the water and I have not had much luck planting anything really pretty in my yard. Any tips!!

Pamella welcome to the forum. When we lived in Houston (Magnolia Gardens) we had Magnolia trees,Tropical Hibicus grows well in fact just about any mallow does well there. We had lilac vines and Bushes like you wouldn't beleive. Good Luck . Check your Harris county extention agent they can give you more ideas.

you gotta grow some oleander& princess flower.They both look soooooo great.Also...If you drive about look what everyones growing& go swing by the mercer arbor place.
Neil spray is a good magazine for you to try for a year.I enjoy mine& just renewed mine this month& he does a newsletter you can subscribe to as well that goes into more detail on some things in the magazine(And is just for TX gardeners)
Any hibiscus just thrives in our area.
